Boya is passionate about the science and engineering that enables environmental sustainability of polymer chemicals and materials. The long term goal is to enable sustainable design, use and manage of polymer chemicals, materials, and wastes. Before join UMN in 2020 fall, Boya is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT.  In her free time, Boya enjoys competitive powerlifting, singing, and cooking.

The goal of her research is to identify how polymeric materials chemically degrade in environmental settings using advanced analytical techniques. Phoebe also enjoys exploring the outdoors, participating in community action and activism, and taking care of her foster cats.
